Technical Selection Notes
Neck length, bore, wall thickness, flange drilling, end preparation and equipment interface are important to long neck flange selection. A nominal size and material name alone do not establish mating compatibility. Compare the complete connection details with the approved piping or equipment drawing.
For forged-material enquiries, state the exact ASTM A182 stainless/alloy designation or ASTM A105 carbon-steel requirement where applicable. Material and availability require confirmation. When enquiring about a stainless-steel grade, use its complete product-standard designation rather than only a commercial label such as “SS 316”. For example, a forged long neck flange enquiry may specify ASTM A182 F304, F304L, F316 or F316L where required by the project; ASTM A105 is a separate carbon-steel forging specification. These are RFQ designation examples, not a confirmed supply range. Any grade substitution needs project approval.
