Washer geometry, hardness, spring condition or bendability must be specified separately from alloy name. Bolt and nut strength classes are not washer grades. Specify thickness tolerance and the inspection method.
Technical Selection & Standard Reference
DIN 988:2025-12 covers shim and supporting rings and replaces the 1990 edition. State whether a shim or a supporting ring is required; they serve different purposes.
Axial-clearance control requires a thickness tolerance and inspection method. A plain washer is not automatically a precision shim.
A family reference is not a certificate for a supplied item. Legacy commercial references require agreement on the actual drawing and contractual specification.

For oil & gas, pharma, dairy or construction enquiries, specify the actual load, environment, temperature, contact-surface and approval requirements. Sector names alone do not establish suitability.

No. Provide the actual ID, OD, thickness and thickness tolerance. Confirm stack-up, flatness and edge requirements for the assembly.
